About Us

At Specialty Aquatics and Consulting, LLC, our work is grounded in a commitment to being thoughtful, caring, and honest in every interaction. We approach every project with a focus on safety, integrity, and genuine care—values shaped by decades of real‑world experience and service.

The company is led by Michael Scheetz, President and Owner, whose career in the aquatics industry spans more than 28 years. Michael has served in leadership roles across university aquatics, private clubs, municipal parks and recreation, military facilities, and large-scale privatized pool operations. This breadth of experience gives him a rare, ground-level understanding of how aquatic facilities truly operate—and what it takes to run them safely, efficiently, and responsibly.

While begining his career in aquatics, Michael also served for 12 years as an EMT and firefighter. That experience profoundly shaped his approach to risk management, emergency preparedness, and operational excellence. Safety is not a checklist for Michael—it is a mindset forged under pressure, responsibility, and service to others.

Michael is a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer for both the American Red Cross and Ellis & Associates, a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), and a recipient of the Certificate of Merit awarded by the President of the United States and the American Red Cross. His technical credentials include Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Certified Pool Inspector, Certified Service Technician, and Instructor certifications through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance. He also serves on the PHTA Service Council and previously on the CDC Model Aquatic Health Code CYA Council, contributing to the policies and standards that shape the industry nationwide.

Beyond his professional life, Michael is deeply rooted in family and community. He is married and the proud father of six children. He volunteers countless hours as a youth and travel baseball coach and as a middle school football coach, and he serves on the boards of Canton Baseball and Cherokee High School Football, where he leads sponsorship and fundraising efforts to create opportunities for young athletes.

This balance of professional rigor and personal commitment defines who we are. When clients partner with Specialty Aquatics and Consulting, they gain more than expertise—they gain a trusted advisor who cares deeply about people, communities, and doing things the right way.
